H2Waco Kick Off: River Cleanup at the STEAM Center

H2Waco is combining our spring waterway conservation efforts into one month-long campaign! Join us as we kick off the campaign at the Waco STEAM Center, we will host a river cleanup with on-site educational activities.

What will volunteers do?

This will be a land and river cleanup, shoreline only. Volunteers must be able to walk, bend over, be on uneven ground, be able to hold a picker and trash bag. Volunteers can join of all ages, but anyone under 16 must have an adult with them at all times. The cleanup will be done within 2 hours and will have a few activities onsite at the STEAM Center. This is a great opportunity for families to join.

What will volunteers need to bring or wear?

Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing they don't mind getting dirty, as well as close toed shoes. They should bring their own water, sunscreen, bug spray, sun hat, snacks etc - whatever they need to be comfortable outside. We will provide the pickers, bags, disposable gloves and hand sanitizer.
